Looking for a competent, trustworthy bridal make up artist is no easy task. In my case, the task was extra hard because I needed someone who could confidently pull off a "Bollywood" look on an Asian face without making me look like I was part of the cirque du soleil Trapeze team. Luckily for me, I found Hilary Ho.
I was first drawn to Hilary's work for magazines. Her work came through the camera beautifully and I thought she would be great to do my engagement shoot makeup. During our 2 hour trial and even though emails beforehand, Hilary took the time to understand my needs, listened to suggestions, asked for feedback and was open to trying different colours and shades. We tried both a natural look for the outdoor engagement shoot and a bolder Bollywood look for my Hindu wedding. Hilary's technique was professional, her brush strokes soft and gentle, sticking to all hygienic practices. My mother said it was like watching an artist painting a picture.
I ended up booking Hilary for both my engagement shoot makeup and hair and also my wedding day. Hilary was punctual, professional, personable and calm on both occasions. It is testament to her skills that my make up survived a 46 degree heatwave and a long wet wedding day. She also created a lovely look for my mother who never wears makeup. I have no reservations in recommending Hilary. Her products are high quality, her skills amazing, prices very affordable and she's just an all round lovely person to work with. Hilary is truly an amazing makeup artist ! She is not only super professional, but she is also very friendly. Hilary did an amazing job for my 21st and she made me look/feel like a celebrity. Robert Gadsbey (Actor)

Hilary provided special FX make up for our short 'super villain origin of' film, KILL SWITCH. I was co-producer and actor on the film and Hilary was able to work within an extremely tight shooting schedule to provide quality scar and bruised make up for my character. She normally enhances the natural beauty of others but for our film, she perfectly captured the aftermath of a violent ordeal that sets my character on a downward spiral. The film has played at several International Film Festivals and audience members have praised the realism of the make up. We needed a quality make up artist on set and Hilary exceeded our expectations. She is also the consummate professional: timeous, affable and she put myself at ease by talking through the application process. I'd definitely work with her again!

Hilary is such an amazing and talented make-up artist! She is super lovely and friendly and took her time to create a perfect engagement shoot and subsequent wedding day look. My make-up stayed on all day and looked flawless. My bridesmaids and mum looked stunning too!
